In Time Movie Review ( Andrew Niccol and 20th Century Fox )

I recently had the chance to see the new action-thriller, In Time. This In Time movie review is my impression of Andrew Niccol's latest film.

'In Time' Movie Review

This flawed yet intriguing film paints a picture of a dystopian future, where 'time is money' - literally.

On premise alone, Andrew Niccol's new movie, In Time, stands as a unique and exciting story.

The movie has received some harsh criticism. Much of which is undue, in my opinion.

I believe much of the disappointment stems from higher expectations from director Andrew Niccols, having previously directed such brain teasers as The Truman Show.

I thoroughly enjoyed the movie, although the premise had more potential than the film actually exhibited.

In Time is a fast paced, futuristic action-thriller that gets right into the action and intrigue from the start.

There is a romance thrown in there too, although the pace of the move made the character development feel rushed at times.

Synopsis:
In the distant future, time is money in a very literal sense. Humans stop aging at 25, and are engineered to live only one more year, unless they have the means to earn or inherit more time.

Consequently, time has become a fiercely sought after commodity. While the rich earn decades at a time, the poor often borrow, beg, and steal time just to make it through another day.

After inheriting a great deal of time from a man who wanted to die, Will Salas (played by Justin Timberlake) becomes the prime suspect in a "murder" case.

Wanted and on the run, Will and his beautiful hostage, Sylvia Weis (played by Amanda Seyfried), must work together to bring down a system that oppresses many for the benefit of few.

I thought it was a pretty good movie. If people think about the concept and apply the concept of time, employment and life to their own individual lives in the real world, then I believe it's a priceless movie. There were some faults, but in my opinion, the concept was portrayed in a well established manner.

I thought is was good too. Not only because of the concept of the movie, but also for the ethical questions it raises.
